About Me, the Pedant

I've always been a fan of words and numbers and the art of using them correctly, and I've done quite a bit of thinking about them ever since my high-school physics teacher explained the difference between a free-body diagram and a free body diagram. For five years, I worked as a proofreader and editor for the human-resources department at Zurich Scudder Investments, Scudder Kemper Investments, and Scudder, Stevens & Clark (all the same company; the name seemed to change every two or three weeks), and I've also been a freelance proofreader for Atori Publishing, Dingles & Company, Christopher Street Financial, and Circle T Partners. I still proofread professionally.

I created the Pedantry section of this site as a repository for all those wonderful nuances of language and numbers that people can't seem to get right. I've tried not to be overly didactic; I intend to keep things lighthearted amidst all the strong opinions.

And if you are irked by violations of certain matters of pedantry, please send them in!
